Welcome to Desert Mountain High School’s

Award-Winning Band and Orchestra Programs

Your student will be receive daily music instruction from our team of top-notch and Award Winning Director – Michelle Irvin.

The various instrumental music programs in which your student can participate are:

Color Guard, Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Orchestra, Jazz I, Jazz II.

We have an active and supportive Booster Organization and invite you to join us. Desert Mountain Band Boosters, Inc. (DMBB) is a non-profit corporation organized for the sole purpose of supporting ALL band programs at Desert Mountain High School. 

DMBB is currently funded through Booster Dues, Donations, and Fundraising. These monies pay for ALL the additional costs incurred for band/music programs not covered by DMHS District fees.

The Desert Mountain Band Boosters provide

·         Expanded Music Selections for Orchestra, Symphonic, Wind Ensemble & Jazz Bands

·         Clinics for Orchestra, Symphonic, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble & Jazz Bands

·         Assistant Directing - Color Guard, Drum Line, Pit and Drum Majors

·         Uniform alterations, dry-cleaning and repairs for concert and marching uniforms

·         Bus transportation to events off campus

·         Transportation of equipment/uniforms - truck rental & fuel

·         Insurance for all competitions, clinics, festivals, performances & away football games

·         Music & Field Design program costs for the Color Guard & Marching Band show

·         Competition Fees for Orchestra, Symphonic, Wind, Jazz & Marching Bands

·         Supplies for instrument care & repair - percussion carts, tie down straps, equipment covers, replacement wheels, etc.

·         Miscellaneous supplies for Orchestra, Symphonic, Wind, Jazz & Marching Bands

·         Supplies for Competitions - first aid, snacks and/or meals, water

·         Supplies for Auxiliary Units - Color Guard, Percussion, Drum Majors

·         Awards & Recognitions

·         Scholarships for Students

District Fees vs. Booster Dues

SUSD District Fees - These fees are paid when your student registers for the school year (i.e. $40 - marching band fee, $40 ($20/semester) - Orchestra fee, $40 ($20/semester) - Symphonic Band fee, $40 ($20/semester) - Wind Ensemble fee, $40 ($20/semester) - Jazz Band fee.

The District fees cover costs associated with instrument repairs and replacement, some music, group competition registration fees and limited transportation (via School District buses).

Desert Mountain Band Boosters, Inc

Band Booster dues cover ALL of the other costs to run our Band/Music programs.  The majority of the operating costs are funded through our yearly Booster dues.  This year those dues are:

$25 – Family membership – voting rights, up-to-date communications with the DMBB Newsletter, e-mail and the website, opportunity to volunteer

For each group each student participates in:

$30 – Orchestra, Symphonic band, Wind ensemble, Percussion ensemble

$30 – Jazz Bands

$60 – Color Guard

$85 – Marching Band, Drum Majors, Pit, Drumline

DMBB dues help fund the following items and events:

Let us know if your student is a Free/Reduced Lunch participant – dues will be waived.
